Full job description: Web Developer

The Web Developer is responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to function, according to specifications. They strive to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation. The role requires a thorough understanding of web development technologies and best practices, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles. The Web Developer will work closely with design and content teams to translate user and business needs into functional and engaging digital experiences. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment are essential for success in this position.

• Working to implement and develop the overall look and design of web applications and mobile applications.
• Writing, reviewing, refactoring, and documenting code with programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, SQL, and any other languages utilized in the company.
• Producing, maintaining, and modifying websites and user interfaces
• Incorporating applications, graphics, audio, and video clips into websites
• Contribute to creating software that enhances the user’s experience.
• Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones.
• Routinely testing websites for ease of use, speed, and other quality factors including Search Engine Optimization.
• Prevent, Detect, and Fix any website issues or bugs that arise.
• Ensure cybersecurity by writing secure code and keeping good practices to prevent intrusion, attacks, and information leaks.
• Commit, review, and document all the code produced in the Zoni using Git.
• Contribute with new ideas and proactively work with other engineers and departments to enhance our software products, and ensure quality and robust software production.
• Automate repetitive tasks and optimize the workflows at Zoni.
• Provide and receive thoughtful feedback when requested or necessary.
• Collect data and keep strict confidentiality about the data collected that allows the company to make data-driving decisions.
• Keep the company code and data private and ensure it is not distributed publicly.
• Keep a transparent working culture by providing track of the job done and current progress.
• Ensure that the software successfully passes the tests and is ranked high according to metrics provided by SEMRush, and Lighthouse, among others.

Remote

Proficiency in Front-End Development
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap Framework. Experience with front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js is beneficial.
Responsive and Mobile Design
Ability to create designs that work on various devices and screen sizes using responsive design techniques.
Web Performance Optimization
Knowledge of techniques and tools for improving website performance, including caching, minification, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
Version Control/Git
Experience with version control systems, especially Git, to track changes and collaborate with other developers.
Cross-Browser Development
Ability to ensure consistent behavior and appearance of applications across various web browsers.
SEO Principles
Understanding of basic Search Engine Optimization principles and ensuring that applications adhere to them.
Basic Graphic Design Skills
Understanding of basic graphic design principles and tools like Adobe Photoshop or Sketch.
Problem-Solving Skills
Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues in a timely and accurate manner.
Attention to Detail
Precision and attention to detail in coding and design implementation.
Communication Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Time Management
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Adaptability
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
